For many developers, you have been sent to the App Defense Alliance as a requirement for integration of your application with a platform provider, or as part of another certification program.

Complete the Onboarding Questionnaire for the specific profile and assurance level for your application. For AL1 and AL2, this questionnaire will be submitted to an ADA Approved Lab of your choice. For AL0, you should maintain the questionnaire in the case of an external challenge to your certification.

Automated testing is a key requirement for the Web Application and Cloud Config profiles. Depending on the assurance level (and instructions from the platform provider), this testing may either be performed by the developer or an ADA Approved Lab. Details can be found in the Web App Testing Guide and the Cloud App and Config Testing Guide.

During the assessment phase (AL1 and AL2), the ADA Authorized Lab will review the Onboarding Questionnaire, automated testing results, and perform any testing of the application as defined in the profile testing guide. For self assessment (AL0), the developer shall perform these steps.

All assessments will result in a Developer Test Report and a Compliance Report. Templates can be found at this link.

For AL1 and AL2, the ADA certification body will review the Developer Test Report and Compliance report against the Onboarding Questionnaire and Automated testing reports to verify compliance.

The ADA Authorized Lab will work directly with the Certification Body and may reach out to you if more information is needed.

Congratulations, your application is certified!

Once the Certification Body has successfully reviewed the submission, you will receive your ADA certification. This certification will be added to the ADA certified products page and will automatically be sent to the platform provider (when appropriate).
